Abstract

The narrative review was planned to evaluate general guidelines for the management of diabetic ketoacidosis in children presenting to the Emergency Department that must be identified timely and correctly, and its management may be adjusted based on individual patient needs and institutional protocols. It is always advisable to consult a senior doctor on call or the endocrinology team, if available, as soon as one suspects diabetic ketoacidosis, ideally at a health centre with experienced professionals in managing the condition.
